Mount Pleasant is of historic heritage significance because of its associations with prominent Launceston businessman and Parliamentarian John Brooks, who built it. Mount Pleasant is of historic heritage significance because of its ability to demonstrate the principal characteristics of a two storey stuccoed Victorian Italianate residence with its associated outbuildings and garden.
This is a two storey brick and stuccoed Victorian italianate substantial house with single storey skirt verandah, round arched windows to the upper floor, a balcony to the upper floor, corbelled chimneys, eaves brackets and pilasters.
